The First Nations Technology Council (FNTC) has launched a new website at firstnationstech.ca, creating a digital home that better reflects our work, our history, and where we are going next.
For CEO Natiea Vinson, the launch is about more than a new look.
"More than a new look and feel, the site gives FNTC a digital presence that better reflects who we are, the calibre of our work, and our commitment to accessibility."
That commitment shaped the site from the beginning, including improved performance in low-bandwidth environments. Access to information should not depend on where someone lives or the quality of their internet connection.
The new site also introduces FNTC's Learning Platform, bringing practical resources, tools, and learning materials together in one place. It begins with a focus on artificial intelligence, supporting First Nations to build knowledge, strengthen capacity, and make informed decisions about technologies that are already affecting communities.
The website also carries part of FNTC's history forward. Robin Roberts of the Haida Nation, who designed FNTC's original logo in 2002, was recommissioned to create new illustrations for the site.
More than anything, the website reflects the breadth of FNTC's work, from digital skills training and career pathways to research on connectivity, AI, spectrum, and the digital economy. Across it all, we support First Nations learners and communities as they shape technology on their own terms.
